President Sean B. Harden Statement on May 1st

Providing definitive clarity around May 1st has been one of the District’s top priorities. We recognize that every decision made must be centered around serving students. As such, key leaders within the District, labor partners, the Mayor’s Office, and sister agencies have worked intently over recent weeks in order to provide clear direction to our entire school community. As a result of this deliberate collaboration, schools will remain open while recognizing May 1st and the significance of civic engagement. This positive outcome demonstrates that we can effectively recognize stakeholder priorities and community input while remaining grounded in our main responsibility - serving our students.
