Chicago Board of Education Welcomes New Board Member

Newly appointed member sworn in and begins Board service

The Chicago Board of Education (Board) welcomes Connie L. Anderson as its newest member following her appointment by Mayor Brandon Johnson to represent Chicago Public Schools (CPS) District 10B.

Anderson was sworn in during the August 27 Board Meeting and officially began serving in her new role. She succeeds former Board Member Olga Bautista, who resigned in March.

Anderson is a community leader, education advocate and entrepreneur with deep roots in Chicago's school communities. Through more than a decade of work with CPS, she has supported student achievement through STEM education and afterschool programming. Anderson also brings extensive civic and governance experience, including leadership roles with community and school organizations across the South Side. She is co-founder of The Record Track, a South Side small business focused on arts and community engagement. Anderson holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Northeastern Illinois University and brings expertise in financial oversight, strategic planning and organizational leadership to her role on the Board.
